What is the difference between "baseball cap" and "cap"?

Dictionaries give similar meanings to them.

For example, Longman gives the same picture of both of them.
So, does that mean that we can use them interchangeably to mean that thing people wear on their head at the beach or that is worn backward by hip hoppers? Or does "baseball" cap only refer to the caps worn by baseball players and that have the team logo on them?

A hat can be a "baseball" cap even if it does not have a team logo on it or is not worn by a baseball player.

I would assume any reference to a "cap" meant this style of hat, unless something else was specified.

I don't understand.

This is a baseball cap. Even though it does not have a baseball team logo. And is not being worn by a baseball player.

If you said "cap" I would assume you meant a hat like this.
