1) In the summer I'm going to do rowing.
2) In the summer I'm going to go rowing.
Is there any difference?

2) is more natural.

Are there any tendecies as to the use of go and do with activities? Will it be more natural if we say "do some rowing" in #1? Do we do mountain climbing or go mountain-climbing? What about cycling?

"Go" is more common for physical activities. We go swimming, rock climbing. skiing, golfing, jogging, cycling, etc.

What about banjo jumping?
Is it do or go?

Do you mean "bungee"? A "banjo" is a musical instrument.

We go bungee jumping.

Have I ever seen a banjo jumping?
No, I don't think so.

:-D

Sorry for the wrong word in "bungee jumping". :-D

Can a boxer say "I do boxing professionally"
Can anyone say "I go boxing"?

1. He'd say 'I'm a professional boxer' or 'I box professionally'.

2. Yes.
