Should I use "a" in the sentence below in British English?

In parks people can breathe fresh air, meet up with friends or do <a> sport.

Interesting. Do the British not play sports?

 I am asking about British English because I know you - Americans use "do sports" (plural) :-D

Not this American.

Yes, sometimes, in a slangy way. But actually, play sports is more common.

Both could work, but do some sport sounds more natural to me.

I would say play rather than do.

Are you saying you wouldn't use "sports" or that you wouldn't use "do"?

"Play sports" is much more common (as noted elsewhere).
