Would you check the sentence below?

1) How far is it from here to the station, do you know?

I thought it would be better to say "Do you know how far it is from here to the station?" instead?
Is it possible to use "do you know?" at the end of the sentence? And if it is, is it common in conversation?

Thank you in advance.

It's not OK as one sentence. It would be OK as "How far is it from here to the station? Do you know?"

You're right that, 'Do you know how far it is from here to the station?' is probably a better way of asking the question, but beware of pedantic answers such as 'yes' or 'no' if what you really want to know is the actual distance.

So if I start the sentence with "Do you know," some people might answer Yes or No instead of the actual distance, right?
Maybe that's the reason "do you know?" was put at the end of the sentence, though it is not OK as one sentence.

Thank you very much.

Well, you don't need to say "Do you know?" when you ask somebody something. Instead say:

Excuse me. Would you tell how far it is to the station?

That is polite enough.

A: Do you know where the Greyhound bus depot is?
B: Yes, I do know.
A: I need to know how to get there.
B: Go north on South Tryon and take a left onto Trade street. You will go five or six blocks. It will be on the left.

A: I need to know how to get there.
B: Yes, you would if you needed to catch a train.
