Please help me to make the right choice in this sentence: He doesn't work / isn't working today because it's Sunday.
Are they both correct?

Thank you.

He isn't working today because it's Sunday.
He doesn't work on Sundays.

He isn't working today because it's Sunday.
He doesn't work on Sundays.

Thank you. But can you tell me something more about the usage of the continuous in the first sentence?

NOT A TEACHER

AT A RESTAURANT

Joe: Where is Mona, my favorite server (waitress)? I don't see her working.

Manager: She isn't working here today.

Joe: Why isn't she working here today?

Manager: Because it's Sunday. She doesn't work here on Sundays.

Joe: I didn't know that. Well, in that case, I am leaving.

Manager: Don't tell the owner that I told you, but Mona is working today at

that restaurant across the street.

Joe: Really?

Manager: Yeah. She works there on Sundays because the owner of that restaurant pays her more.
