Dear friends,
I have a question.I am from India. My teacher told me that we use dozen instead of dozen when a numeral precedes it.
1 one dozen bananas
2 half dozen bananas
But when we use one and a half dozen,we use dozens
3 one and a half dozens bananas
I doubt whether sentence 3 is correct. Can you please tell whether we use dozen or dozens with one and a half.

Also,I have seen many phrases like
4 two litre milk
5 two litres of milk
What is the difference between sentence 4 and 5 ? Which one is correct ?
Thanks

Your teacher is right.

We say 'A dozen bananas' or 'one dozen bananas'. 'Half a dozen bananas.'
'One and a half dozen (not 'dozens) bananas.' 'Three and a half dozen bananas.'

'Two litres of milk' or 'A two-litre carton of milk' are correct.

'2 litre milk' is what you might put on your shopping list as a note to yourself.

I don't understand your question at all. If you use "dozen" instead of "dozen" you have not changed anything.
