Drama in ESL classroom

Hi there I am doing some research into using drama with 16-19 year olds in the ESL classroom. Apart form my own experiences I would love to hear positive and or negative effects on learners that any other teachers have experienced. I would be grateful for all your pearls!!

Absolutely, but also any other forms of 'drama' e.g. improvisation, plays/dialogues, writing own material or using a script, performances,songs etc
