Hi,

I want to know what this expression "draw criticism" means?
Here is the whole sentence in which this verb is included:

In such a scenario, even if Saudi Arabia has the ability to coerce the government to change policy by military means, such an action is likely to draw criticism from the United States, as indicated by the reactions of the United States to Saudi Arabia’s recent intervention in Bahrain.

Thank you

It's not slang.

And in another thread I was talking about 'distract' - which brings to mind another collocation: 'attract criticism'.

Not at all. ;-) It was just something I thought of. (Butterfly mind, me )
