[Idiom] dying for a cry

Could you please explain to me what's the meaning of dying for a cry?

You haven't given us any context, but if somebody is "dying for a cry" it could mean that they think they would feel a lot better if they had a cry. Perhaps they have some emotions built up inside them and crying would help.

Here, "dying" is used in the informal sense of wanting to do or have something very much.
"I'm dying for a cup of coffee".
"I'm dying to see my son play football again"

Sorry i forgot to put the context, Mr.Freezeframe, but I think Mr. JMurray's explanation is fit to the context in my head :)
