"Are you ready?"
"Are you ready yet?":?:

What's the difference between the meaning of these two sentences? [STRIKE]meaning?[/STRIKE]

"Are you ready?"
"Are you ready yet?"

They effectively mean exactly the same thing.

The "yet" can imply that the person asking the question is impatient.

...and 'Aren't you ready yet?' implies even more impatience.
