enlight and enlighten

My dictionary lists them as interchangeable, and I heard someone say 'please enlight us' today as a humble television host posed a question to his guest . I want to know whether 'enlight' is more narrowly used in your part of the world than 'enlighten' is? Thank you.

Not a teacher.

I have never heard or used "enlight." "Enlighten" is the proper word to use.

Enlight is a very unusual word. I had never heard of it.

I'd forget it.
