What is the difference between the two tenses in the pair of sentences below?


It may be that your circumstances are different or unusual, in which case we can ensure that you have taken the right action.
It may be that your circumstances are different or unusual, in which case we can ensure that you take the right action.
 
For the first, I don't know the context, but it would be unusual for anyone to be able to ensure that one has taken the right action in the past. Your second is fine. It points to the future.
 
You can assure someone that they have taken the right action in the past (if they have), but it's too late to ensure it.
