There is a popular cartoon movie 'Peppa Pig'. In the name of the animal character (a little pig named Peppa) the name comes first followed by the type of animal. So I can form in this manner names for my own characters (for English exercises for kids that I am making), for example, Eve Cheetah. Can I do it the other way round, for example, Pig Peppa, Cheetah Eve. Which variant is more natural? If both are possible, what difference can your native ear feel?

There are exceptions (Yogi Bear, Miss Piggy, Porky Pig), but normally we just give a character a name. So it's hard to say which is more natural. However, in the few instances in which it has been done the "animal name" comes second. So I would go with that. Thus you have:

Eve Cheetah
Bobby Bear
Melvin Monkey
Sally Snake

:)

I agree with Tarheel on the order of words. However, "Eve Cheetah" doesn't fit the alliterative pattern of the others. How about "Cherry Cheetah" or "Chad Cheetah".

I like Cherry Cheetah. If you're going with Eve, I prefer Cheetah Eve.

You might want to think about possible copyright issues and avoid Chester Cheetah.

Peter Cheetah?

Rita Cheetah?
