Hello I'm a Brit living in America I am fed with my accent since everyone always comments on it when they hear me talk and the vast majority of the time it's a negative reaction.

Anyone got any ideas on how to sound more American so I can stop getting abuse and insults about how I talk?

Since you're surrounded by American accents all day every day, I suspect you'll quickly pick up an accent of a kind. Ask an American friend to help you practise.
