Ike is about to interview Maggie but she demands 1000 for this interview:

Maggie: I'm guessing that you're writing on spec. And with a first-person interview, you might actually sell that thing.
Ike: Too much.
Maggie: Seven-fifty.

What is the meaning of "first-person interview"?

I've never heard that expression. She probably means she'll let him be the first person to interview her.

I thought it might mean an interview in person, where both the interviewer and interviewee are physically present in the same room. I'm sure a lot of interviews are done by Skype, by phone or even by a list of questions being emailed to the interviewee and the responses being emailed back.

It's possible it could be 'a First Person interview'.

You could be right. After Googling "first-person interview," I was wondering that, too. But Kingston said "first-person," rather than "First Person," and my impression is that Kingston copies movie subtitles verbatim.

So yes, maybe Ike is a free-lancer who sells to First Person.

I have seen a lot of very dodgy movie sub-titles over the years.

Even worse are music videos with lyrics superimposed. They never get it right!
