[Vocabulary] Fluctuant or Fluctuating

Hello!

I can't really figure out which word is best in these cases, can you help me?

-My schedule is rather fluctuant.

-I have a fluctuating schedule.

I didn't know fluctuant existed until I read this.

My dictionary says it's used in literary or technical contexts, so it wouldn't be appropriate in your sentence.

I'm into my fifth decade of life without ever having seen, heard, or used fluctuant before. I had to look it up to believe it was a real word. It appears you've used it correctly, but most native speakers would not know this word -- or I should say, most people in the U.S. Perhaps this useful word is in greater use elsewhere.

If you want another word to use, try "variable."

I would prefer "fluctuating schedule".
 
or I should say, most people in the U.S."
And in the UK. I thought it did not exist until you and Rover said that you had looked it up, and that it did.
 
Rover's dictionary must be more complete than mine, though. I didn't see the note about technical contexts.
