"something" deals with singular verbs, so isn't it "flies", not "fly"? I'd appreciate your reply.[/FONT]
 
To put a name or tag to it, see, hear, watch, notice, etc. are called verbs of perception..

Make, have, let, etc. are called causative verbs.

After such verbs, we use the bare infinitive.

Did you see it fly?
I watched it fly.
You will see it fly.
They have seen it fly.
I was watching it fly.
