She does't ask her son to stay at home all day long. ( ),she often travels with her son.
(a) Instead. (b) For example
Which one is right?
The answer given is (a). I wonder why can't I choose (b)?
Thanks!

School quiz
Is it ok to use for example here? Why or why not?
Thanks!

Is there anything in the text to suggest that she does other things that take him out of the house?

Neither answer is more correct than the other, in my opinion.

I would change everything. (See below.)

Perhaps:

She doesn't ask her son to stay at home all day long. Instead, she often takes him with her on her trips.

(If you were going to use "For example" I would want to know what it is an example of.)

(Why don't they ever ask me to help them with those quizzes? ;-))
