"As the razzed-up Eighties arrived like a drunken gatecrasher at the now winding-down party that was once the Seventies, it was no longer the figure of the svelte golden god, standing astride the mike, long mane of hair framing a coquettish pout, that embodied the face of rock. Nor was it the yang to his yin, the lead guitarist, swaying like a cobra, hypnotised by his own wasted elegance".

Mick Wall, "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be".

What does "framing a coquettish pout" mean in other words? Thanks.

To frame something is to enclose it the way a picture frame surrounds a picture. I'll leave "coquettish pout" to you and your dictionary to work out.

Thanks. So the hair surrounded pouted lips? Sounds strange to me.

@Vladv1 What makes sense there?

@Vladv1 No, as Probus pointed out in post #4, the hair surrounds her face, not just the lips.
