[Grammar] Future is Not a tense, why?

Future is NOT a tense, but why???
My teacher said it is not a tense, the thing is that I found on the internet that it is..
Is it a tense or not, why?

Most grammarians today consider that there is no future tense in English. There are many ways of expressing the future, but there is no inflected form of the verb to express futurity. We have to use present tense forms (the context tells us whether they refer to the future), modals, such as will, may, etc, or other ways such as I am going to, want to, hope to, etc.
