Hello

How do you define the word "gamey"?

I know that in dictionaries, it's defined as "having the smell of wild animals hunted for food" but can we use it to describe the smell of "raw meat" in general, e.g. raw chicken, beef or mutton? Sometimes, raw meat stinks , not because it's gone bad, but because of the food farmers fed the animals, especially in big chicken or cow farms.

In this case, can I say the chicken or the beef smells "gamey"? If not, how can I describe this smell?

Thank you

Cooked mutton and wild meats taste gamey. The word means like wild game. Raw meat that smells bad is off or spoiled.
