Teresa Widener, or possibly Ms. Widener if you want to be formal. But wait, there's even a video of her - not for the faint of heart.

And Liaquit Khan can't quite snacking on rocks. Ironically, he was able to quit tobacco. The face of his friend in the background is priceless.

On a marginally more serious note: if you break down the term geophagist into its Greek roots of geo (earth) and phago (eat, devour) plus suffix -ist (person who performs the prior roots), I guess we could take the root litho (stone) and call them lithophagists.

I'd think that sand might fall under the general guise of 'earth', but if you're in a neologismisticly pedantic mood, use the Greek root for sand, psamm or psamath, and call them psammophagist or psamathophagists.

Of course I just coined those terms - I don't think you'll actually find them anywhere. In fact, I made up 2.5 percent of the words in this post.

I like psammophagist, but guess weirdo would suffice.

How can one pronounce psamathophagist?

The p will be silent.
