What is the exact meaming of "got caught" in this sentence?

"I was on a lake in the US and got caught underneath a rowing boat."
From "English File" by Christina Latham-Koenig and Clive Oxenden.

Re: Get caught on

Why is your title "Get caught on"?

Re: Get caught on

Past tense of catch, definition 22: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/catch

22. to become gripped, hooked, or entangled:
Her foot caught in the net.

"Got caught" means either "became caught" or "was caught [by someone/something]," depending on context.

In your sentence it is similar to "...became trapped/stuck underneath a rowing boat."

Re: Get caught on

You mistyped it again: it should be got caught.

Should it be : "I mistakenly typed it" or "I typed it mistakenly"?

Or "It's a typo. I meant to write "got caught". Bear in mind that the title was better than some but would have been better as "I was on a lake in the US and got caught underneath ...". Titles are meant to be unique. There's a good chance that someone has used "got caught" before, or will use it in the future. There is little chance that the "I was on a lake ..." version will be used by anyone else.
