a. They told me to go there cautiously if I wanted to do it.

b.. They told me to finish my meal rapidly if I wanted to do it.

What does 'to do it' mean in each of these sentences?

I think in both cases it might be something that has been mentioned before.
But could it mean 'to go there' or 'to go there cautiously' in (a)?
And could it mean 'finish my meal;' or 'finish my meal rapidly' in (b)?
