[Grammar] go to play football

We ususally say 'go skiing, go bowling, etc. but should I say 'Let's go to play football' or 'Let's go playing football'?

Could someone help me with this?Thanks a lot! :shock:

I would say "Let's play football".

Also 'Let's go and play football'.

We can go verb+ing or we can play (name of a) game, but we don't go playing anything.
