Hi,

I wonder if these following two sentences are natural.

1) The good agriculture let people haven't hungry.
2) The technology help people have a good life.

If not, could you please give me a better version?

The first one is wrong for a couple of reasons. With the second one use "helps". (That one is a grammatical sentence, but that doesn't mean I would use it.)

Neither is at all grammatical. I think you mean:

1. Improvements in agriculture mean that people no longer go hungry.
2. Technology helps people enjoy their lives.

The first is now grammatically correct but untrue. Hunger is, unfortunately, still prevalent in the 21st century.
The second is now grammatically correct but not everyone would agree with you. Some people think technology is a disaster and has ruined human connections.

Who wrote those sentences, Silver? Your student?

Yeah, I tried my best to come up with something "idiomatic" for her but I couldn't. So I asked here. Sorry I forgot to say that those were written by my student.

"The technology helps people have a good life" is certainly a grammatical sentence. (How could it not be?) That does not, of course, mean it makes sense.

A lot of people seem to be confused about what technology is. It is not something that was invented recently. Technology has to do with the use of tools. It is true that computer technology is a fairly recent development, but humans have been using tools for a very long time. (Humans started using fire between 1.3 and 1.4 million years ago.)

Technology

the application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims of human life or, as it is sometimes phrased, to the change and manipulation of the human environment.

Is there a specific technology that the writer is talking about?

What student? The OP's member profile doesn't say they're a teacher.

She was talking about technology in general.

I've been working as a tutor. Ted noticed that I had said this before so he was wondering if it was my student who had written the sentences and I said yes.

But you're right that I'm always a student here to learn. I really didn't know what I could say when I read her sentences until I read your versions.

I can imagine how challenging it is to tutor a student who writes "The good agriculture let people haven't hungry", which is a literal translation from Chinese.

@Silver, you should probably create a signature line stating that you're an unqualified and unpaid tutor to learners who know less about English than you do.
