I would be grateful if you could consider and grant my request.

I would be grateful if you would consider granting my request.
1. "I would be grateful if you would grant my request." This is more honest. It's what you want.
2. "I would be grateful if you would consider my request." This is more polite. The implication that you want your request granted after they consider it is obvious enough. I'd use 2. initially, and proceed to 1. if there's a problem and you want to be more blunt with them.
