New York Times retweeted:
Nashville did not need another test of its grit.

OK. What is "grit"? I asked myself and replied: "Great courage and resilience".
It turns out that Cambridge Dictionary defines it as "courage and determination despite difficulty".
So both definitions are close. To be prudent, I checked out "resilience", which means "the ability to be happy, successful, etc. again after something difficult or bad has happened" - that is, the word is also linked to the context of being difficult.
Do you think my definition ("grit means great courage and resilience") is acceptable?
