Dear all,

In a show, there is a part about pulling hairs. comic shows. Each shot has a title. What can "Hairdo-don't" mean?

It seemed like a famous expression when I googled it.

Not important to be literal, but just give me some possib;e suggestion.

Thanks.

Can it mean "Don't mess my hairdo"??

Thanks.

I'd like you tell us the complete sentence.

That is the problem. It's just a title for a part where a sister pulls the hair of her brother to play with his toy.

Thanks.

Did she say,'Hairdo', and he said,'don't!' ;maybe?

Fashion magazines have things you should do to look fashionable (the "do"s) and things you should not do if you want to look fashionable (the "don't"s). [It's another topic how to punctuate do's/do or don't's/don'ts.]

A hairdo don't means don't do this to look fashionable. Given the context, it's meant to be a joke.

Well I undesrtand it's a joke. But i'm supposed to translate that joke. Since it's not very translationable. I should get somthing similar to the eaning. What do you think of my suggestion above?? Thanks.

A better translation would be "This won't be a good look for you -- or anyone!"

Your "don't mess with my hairdo" is not a good translation for hairdo don't.
