[FONT=宋]3."It has taken us two years to settle that loan, but at last we are paid up." we can say "we plaid up the debt ," or " the debt is peid up by us". Grammatically , it cannot be in the passive voice . If we regard " paid up" as the complement of the subject , that means we are the loaner. Please explain the "are" to me.[/FONT]
