If someone have two people meet after a long time and they feel good after meeting each other then what should be the correct sentence "Thanks for having us met here" or "Thanks for having us meet here"?

Do we say "Have two people meet" or "Have two people met"?

If [STRIKE]someone have [/STRIKE]two people meet after a long time and they feel good after meeting each other, then what should be the correct sentence "Thanks for having us met here":cross: or "Thanks for having us meet here":tick:?

Do we say "Have two people meet" or "Have two people met"? Several possibilities. Depends on context.

A long time has gone by since two people have seen each other. They finally get together again and have an enjoyable time. One says to the other, "I'm glad I got to see you again." The other one says, "Likewise."

In that context, I might say:

Thanks for bringing about this little reunion.

If you said "Thanks for having us meet here", I would take the emphasis to be on the location. I would assume the person was thanking me for choosing this specific location for the get-together, rather than somewhere else.

How about Thanks for arranging our meeting?

How would they thank the third person who had them meet (Who arranged the meeting)?

Um, that's easy. Say:

Thank you for arranging the meeting.

Or:

Thank you for setting up the meaning.

Or:

Thank you for getting us together.

(See post #8.)

Perhaps:

Bob knows both Jim and Jack. He knew they hadn't seen each other in a long time. He arranged for them to meet at a local restaurant. They were both glad he did it.
