Hi,

I learned definitions and usages "suspicious" by Oxford and Longman dictionary,
https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/suspicious?q=suspicious
https://www.ldoceonline.com/ko/dictionary/fishy

When someone is strange or looks weird, do you think I cannot say something like this, because it is wrong usage?
• He is suspicious. (X)

Instead, do you believe I had better say something like these?
• His behavior is suspicious.
• He has a suspicious look.

Thanks in advance~!

Say "He looks suspicious".

• His behavior is suspicious.
• He has a suspicious look.
Those are okay, and you can append "about him" to the end of the second one.

Bear in mind that "He looks suspicious" can also mean "He looks as if he suspects something" in the right context.

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
Therefore, either [He looks suspicious] or [He is suspicious] doesn't mean he is strange and weird, do I understand correctly?
Instead, both of them mean he looks like he suspects something, right?

That's one possible meaning. Another is that the speaker suspects 'he' of something.

Why don't you use fishy/dodgy, where there won't be any ambiguity?
