1. Don't heat the oil on this frying pan.
2. Don't heat up the oil on this frying pan.
I think #1 is correct. Is #2 also acceptable?
 
Change on to in and they're both possible — if you've already mentioned the oil you're talking about.
 
Come on in. (correct)
*Don't come on in. (incorrect)
Hurry up! (correct)
*Don't hurry up. (incorrect)
Listen up. (correct)
*Don't listen up. (incorrect)
Heat up the oil. (correct)
Don't heat up the oil. (also correct)

Is my understanding correct?
