I think that's the way it's always phrased in recipes, and I have no argument with that.

Recipes normally find no need to include 'a temperature of'.

Heat the oven to 200°C.

Now I have a new thought:

Heat the oven to a temperature of 200°C.

"A temperature of 200°C" means that the temperature is not the only one. We could get many instances of the temperature in our lives.

Is that reasonable?
