Hello.teachers. Which world can instead of the part underlined in this sentence because or if?

I will take an umbrella with me in case it rains. Thank you!:)

You cannot use either in this sentence.

in case
1 : for the purpose of being ready for something that might happen
▪ Bring an umbrella in case it rains. ▪ We brought extra money just in case.

Why can't you use if? It changes the meaning, but it is a correct sentence.

I should've said You cannot use either in this sentence instead of "in case" without changing the meaning.

If we're changing the meaning, then because can work too.

:?::-| Teachers, Your answers seem like both can do, but both can not do. Which word can be used in this sentence on earth? How to change the meaning of this sentence?

I know; I wanted to get things going without spoon-feeding the answer as I have a feeling this might be a homework question. ;-)
