Have you looked up the words in a dictionary? OneLook: General dictionary siteswhich one is host and wihich one is guest ?

2. [STRIKE]vistied a person[/STRIKE]The person (who is being) visited.
Both phrases could refer to both a guest and the host although the only one mentioned is the host ("a person"). The first sentence uses the continuous and the second one uses the past tense.
