[Vocabulary] How to describe someone who is bald but not totally?

Hello,

If someone has hair on the sides of his head but he does not have hair in the center of his head, how can we describe him in one or two-word adjective?
 
Balding.
 
Also

'I notice Jack's getting a little thin on top.'
 
Receding
 
This might be a useful present for such a person.
