I've never heard a native speaker say 'I'm insomnia-stricken'.
'I'm a poor sleeper.'
'I have trouble sleeping.'
'I'm a martyr to insomnia.'

Matthew, mine was a joke. Insomniacs can't sleep. Dyslexics reverse letter positions. In this case, Dog for God. Agnostics question the existence of God.

I wouldn't say that "feeling like the walking dead" is more like sleepwalking at all. If I hadn't slept for a few days, I would certainly feel as if I were some kind of zombie. You might be awake but you are not capable of functioning like a normal human being. However, you are awake and mostly alert. People who sleepwalk are actually asleep.
