Dear teachers,

I seldom use ellipsis in writing, so I want to learn how to use it correctly.
I have written a sentence here, please correct me if I am wrong:

1.
The new restaurant near my house almost got everything I need. It has a section for computer sale, a section for candies, a section for cooked food, a section for vegetables...sometimes I can spend more than half of a day there.

Thank you for your time.

Kitty

Please see my amendments above. Your placement of the ellipsis was fine, in my opinion, but we put a space at either end of the three dots.

It's a very strange restaurant which sells computers! ;-)

(1) I think that it's wonderful that you want to learn something about

ellipsis.

(2) I do not know much about ellipsis, but I think that it is very difficult

(impossible?) to know whether you did it correctly without seeing all the words,

including the words that you deleted.

(3) May I make a respectful suggestion?

(a) Post a short paragraph with all of the words.

(b) Then shorten the paragraph by ellipsis.

(c) Someone here will compare your ellipsis with the original paragraph

(with all the words) and then tell you how well you did. `

P.S. May I be frank (very honest)? I do not think that your ellipsis is

correct. But I cannot be sure because you did not post all the words.
