Is this right to say:

X is about hundreds times larger than Y (for example, to mean X > 200Y)

X is (about) hundreds of times larger than Y. :tick:
But "about" is awkward there. If you have to use a modifier there, 'approximately' would be better.

Or
X is hundreds or even more of times larger than Y.

The last sentence is no good.

An alternative for the first, instead of saying "hundreds or even thousands" is to say "orders of magnitude." X is orders of magnitude greater than Y.
