Hello,
"I believe that our foreign policy, which serves as a basis for preserving and improving our national interests, should be evaluated from a forward-looking point of view.
Our foreign policy exerts efforts to find solutions to a variety of problems partly dating back to the beginning of the past century and also partly stemming from the geographical conditions in our region. Stability across our region has been negatively affected by the end of the Cold War. A number of problems due to the dissolution of the Soviet Union and former Yugoslavia continues to threaten peace and stability.
Conflicts and uncertainties in the Balkans and Caucasus as well as in the Middle East demonstrate how challenging geography Turkey locates in.
In addition to these regional problems, current international threats, such as intensification of terrorism, increase in the number of weapons of mass destruction, illegal mass migration movements, drug and human trafficking, and organized crimes, have been added on our foreign policy agenda.
In the face of these conflicts and threats, as set by Great Leader Atatürk, Turkey follows principled and compromising policies on behalf of international law, rights and justice, and also contributes to improvement of stability and cooperation.
This century is the age of peace, reconciliation and cooperation. As an advocator of these values, Turkey, with its foreign policy, will maintain being a significant factor of stability in its region."
