If I am talking about redoing a course can I use "return" and doesn't "don't bother to do so" sound rude?

I stopped attending some courses before too. When there is an opportunity to return to them I don't bother to do so.

Why do you want to redo or repeat (you don't say "return") a course?

I have stopped attending pulled out of some courses before the end. too. When there is an opportunity to return to them, I don't bother to do so.
Note my corrections above. You can only "retake" a course if you've taken the whole course already and want to do it a second time. If you started a course but didn't finish it, you would "restart" it.

"I don't bother to do so" doesn't sound rude. It would sound rude if someone personally offered you the opportunity to take a course they were running again and you said "I can't be bothered". They might take offence at that!
