I found my way back to my feet

Hello.

I want to suggest someone stood up after crouching down. Can I say "found way back to feet"? I remember reading something like that a long time ago but I have no idea where.

What do you think about his sentence?

I crouched down to tie my daughter's shoelace. She kissed my head before I found my way back to my feet.
 
I think it is "got back on my feet".
 
The natural way to say this is simply "... before I stood [back] up". Saying "found my way to my feet" makes it sound as if you were having trouble doing so for some reason.

Your suggested sentence is wordy, I like and agree with emsr2d2's suggestion in post 3.
