Dear all,

Is it fine to say, "I found this book difficult to be read without a dictionary" to mean "I found it difficult to read this book without a dictionary"?

Thank you!

OP

 But you could say "I found this book difficult to [STRIKE]be[/STRIKE] read without a dictionary" (in which case the 'read' would be pronounced /ri:d/, not /red/).
