I gave my car to my mom, and in turn I leased another car.

Is in turn used correctly here?

It is understandable, but I would use "then" instead of "in turn".

I would use "then" or "and". I would use "in turn" if my mum had gone on to do something similar.

I gave my car to my mum and in turn she gave her car to my sister.

Would it be correct if I say I gave my car to my mum and in turn she gave hers to my sister?
