Good evening,

Can we say I have a lot of stress at work?

Thanks

ok so can we say "I have stress at work"? The sentence doesn't sound bad with "a lot of" but doesn't sound correct without .

You can, but that would normally be part of a longer conversation.

Jack: I've been learning how to handle stressful parts of my life.
Madeline: I have stress at work! How have you been approaching this?

Is the job always stressful or are things bad at the moment? If the job is more stressful than usual, you could say that you are under a lot of stress at work.

Yes under a lot of stress sounds fine. What I'm trying to get at is if it is correct to use the verb "have", as "I have stress" just doesn't sound correct but I have come across it in a friend's English book.

I find "I have stress" pretty unnatural too. I would expect "I'm stressed at work" or "I'm very stressed at work".
