1. I think “cough” refers to a short-duration action like “sneeze, kick, hit, jump, knock, hop, and tap.” Is my understanding correct?

2. Am I right about the following sentences?

1) I have sneezed for two hours but I feel well now. (incorrect)
This sentence is wrong because “have sneezed for two hours” cannot indicate a finished action as “have played for two hours”.

2) I sneezed for two hours but I feel well now. (correct)
3) I was sneezing for two hours but I feel well now. (correct)
4) I have been sneezing for two hours and I still don’t feel well. (correct)

Number 1 is unnatural in that it is very hard to think of a plausible context for it, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it is incorrect. It is grammatically correct.
