Hello, dear teachers.
Could you please tell me what tenses can be used with unfinished time and
which sentences below are correct? Thank you very much for your help.

1) I am writing a novel this year.
2) I have written two stories this year.
3) I have been writing a book this year.
4) I wrote a novel this year.
5) I will write a novel this year.
6) I will have written a novel this year.

What do you mean by "unfinished time". The sentences are all possible depending on what you want to say.

Thank you very much for your question.
In the sentences above, “this year” is an unfinished time because this year isn’t finished yet.
I’m sure that sentence 1 and 2 are correct, but I am not sure about other sentences.
I need to know if sentence 3 to 6 are correct.
Could someone help me with my problems?
Thank you very much.

I would rather mention the month of the year I have been writing since. For instance, 'I have been writing a novel since January', or 'I've been writing a novel for the past six months' (if you really started it this January).

1) I am writing a novel this year.

You are writing it now.

2) I have written two stories this year.

You have finished writing them.

3) I have been writing a book this year.

You are writing it now.

4) I wrote a novel this year.

You have finished writing it.

5) I will write a novel this year.

You have not started writing yet.

6) I will have written a novel this year.

Maybe you have already started, and maybe you haven't.

They're all grammatical.

I don't know what "unfinished time" is.

She said she means the remaining part of the year, i.e. 6 July to year end.

Thank you all very much for your help.
The following example refers to “unfinished time.”
Today is May 5, so the end of “this year” hasn’t come yet.
The time period of this year hasn’t finished yet.
Could you please tell me if my understanding correct?

Your understanding is not correct. The phrase with unifinished time doesn't mean anything. Time has no end. It does not express year.

You can use phrases like:

- the rest of the year.
- the remainder of the year.
- until the end of the year.
- from then until the year is over.
- up until year's end.
- until the year is over.
- through December.

“This year” includes the past and the future, and the period of the year is not over.
Could you please tell me if my understanding is correct?

You're right. Like every other year, 2020 is twelve months long, and it won't be over until the end of December.

No surprise there!

Could you please tell me if the following sentences are incorrect?
Thank you very much.

1) I write a novel this year.
2) I was writing a novel this year.
3) I had written two stories this year.
4) I had been writing a book this year.
5) I will have been writing a novel this year.
6) I will be writing a novel this year.

Could you please tell me if the following sentences are incorrect?
Thank you very much.

1) I write a novel this year. :cross:
2) I was writing a novel this year. :tick: if you're no longer writing the novel.
3) I had written two stories this year. :cross:
4) I had been writing a book this year. :cross:
5) I will have been writing a novel this year. It's OK but I can't think of a context for it.
6) I will be writing a novel this year. :tick: if you haven't started it yet but you plan to start before the end of the year.

See above.
