Hi everyone,

1. I last saw him yesterday.
2. He last called me at 5 o'clock.

From these examples I conclude that "last" is placed before the main verb in the sentence. So, will the following sentence be correct then?

"It last happened in 1991."

And what about "last time"? Where should I place it in these sentences?

1. I last time saw him yesterday.
2. I saw him yesterday last time.
3. I saw him last time yesterday.

Thank you.

If you deleted "time", 1 and 3 would be OK. #2 is not possible.
