This is from a show called The Big Bang Theory.
Howard and Sheldon had a fight over a parking spot. Sheldon sat on the parking spot but Howard drove a car to push him away. Leonard came out from the university and stopped them.

Leonard: What I don't believe is you tried to run him over.
Howard: Oh, like you've never thought of doing that. Don't hate me just because I lived the dream.

I like to know the difference between "I lived the dream" and "I lived out the dream".

I WOULD like to know the difference between "I lived the dream" and "I lived out the dream".
I don't know. Are they both used?

There's probably no difference.

I haven't used either expression, but I would understand what is meant.

The set phrase is "(I'm/You're/We're) Living the dream!" I've never heard it with "out" so I wouldn't use that.
